Vol. 237 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meetings with British Minister.

16.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will now report on the outcome of his various meetings with the British Minister for Agriculture during the present year.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to questions on this subject on 27th March. There have been no further discussions with the British Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food since then.

There will hardly be any now.

Is this the fellow from London or Belfast?

You should know, Deputy.

Is it not a fact that before we went into recess the Minister said that he was having further discussions with the British Minister and that as soon as these discussions had ended he would report to the House?

He had them last Saturday.

There is not anything further I can add to that which I gave in reply to the Deputy's question back in March.

The reply was that you were having further discussions with the British Minister and when these discussions ended you would report to the House.

A fat lot of good that did.

In that reply, and I have it before me, there is no mention that I would give further information.

There was a later reply than that.

We can say truthfully that a fat lot of good that did.
