Vol. 237 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Development.

66.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he proposes to introduce any new legislation in the near future in relation to industrial development; and, if so, if he will give details.

As I indicated in reply to a question on 7th November, 1968, I hope that legislation to implement the Government's proposals for industrial development will be introduced shortly.

These proposals are, briefly, the reorganisation of the Industrial Development Authority and its merger with An Foras Tionscal, an extension of the package of incentives which may be offered by the IDA to new industry. the provision of re-equipment grants for existing industry and the assignment to the Shannon Free Airport Development Co. Ltd. of functions in respect of the Limerick/ Clare/North Tipperary region.
