Vol. 237 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inchicore (Dublin) Open Space.

44.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will ensure that there is no delay in the approval of plans for the development of the open space at Ranch, Inchicore on which Saint Mary's Terrace was demolished; and if he will arrange that the Corporation clear up this site immediately.

I am informed by Dublin Corporation that they have commenced work on the fencing of this site to ensure that the area will be protected from dumping; and that the formulation of proposals for the development of the area must await completion of negotiations for the acquisition of some dwellings at St. Mary's Terrace, and additional land and dwellings at the rear. There will be no undue delay in my Department in examining any proposals submitted by the housing authority.

Is the Minister not aware that I have asked several Dáil questions and raised this matter several times at the Housing Committee of the Dublin Corporation and at public meetings of Dublin Corporation, to the knowledge of Deputy Dowling, and that this is an effort by Deputy Dowling at a parasitic exploitation of my work in this connection?

I am not so aware.

Has it anything to do with the housing delay?

I raised this matter before Deputy Dunne came into the corporation. I have raised this matter on numerous occasions at the Dublin Corporation. Ballyfermot is under new management as from now on.

That is what constituencies are now, under Fianna Fáil "management".

Deputy Dowling will be run out of it, the same as Boland was.

That is what Deputy Dunne thinks.

Go west. young man, go west.
