Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial Training.

94.

andMr. Timmins asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware of the difficulties experienced by small firms in arranging suitable training for young people employed in the administrative side of industry; and if it will be possible to arrange for day release courses to be held in appropriate technical schools in Wicklow and elsewhere whereby an employee could be released by his employer for one day per week to follow an approved course of study.

I understand that the Department of Education and the Vocational Education Committee are prepared to give sympathetic considertion to the provision of courses in local technical schools wherever there is a demand which would justify the provision of such courses.
