Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Charges Against Labour Court.

76.

asked the Minister for Labour whether he is aware that a board appointed by the Minister for Social Welfare at a recent hearing of the Labour Court informed the Labour Court of their intention to press charges against the Labour Court in a court of law; and whether his Department lays down any line to be followed by boards directly appointed by the Government in dealing with the Labour Court.

I am aware of the situation referred to by the Deputy. The Labour Court issued its recommendation on this dispute yesterday. I assume that the recommendation is under consideration by the parties to the dispute. In the circumstances I would prefer not to comment further at this stage.
