Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closure of County Tipperary Garda Station.

93.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware of the hardship imposed on the unemployed people in the Puckane area, Nenagh, County Tipperary, who will now have to travel from eight to ten miles once a week to sign at the employment exchange at Nenagh owing to the closure of the Garda station at Puckane; and if he will give details of the measures he proposes to introduce to alleviate this unnecessary hardship.

I am informed that the closure referred to took place last week and that alternative arrangements have been made for the unemployed persons affected. I am making inquiries as to whether the new arrangements involve hardship to any of the persons concerned and will let the Deputy know the outcome in due course.
