Vol. 238 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Kiosks.

6.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that there is an urgent need for a telephone kiosk at the Booth Road, Clondalkin, Dublin, as it is a large residential area; and if he will take steps to have one provided there as soon as possible.

It is expected that a kiosk will be provided at Booth Road, Clondalkin, before the end of the current financial year.

Is the Minister aware that this kiosk is being sought for about four years now?

I am very glad it is being provided.

After four years battling.

These things are happening in our time.

7.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state for County Galway (a) in respect of the current financial year to date and (b) in respect of the residue of the current financial year, how many telephone kiosks were or will be erected and their place of erection; and how many are intended for erection and their place of erection in 1969-70.

Kiosks were provided at Taughmaconnell and Kilrickle during the current financial year and it is expected that kiosks will be provided at Leenane, Abbey and Tuam before the end of the financial year. The programme for the year 1969/1970 has not been finally settled but it will probably include at least six kiosks in County Galway at New Inn, Cummer, Brierfield and three in Galway City.
