Vol. 238 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Pilot Farm Area.

16.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will consider including the parishes of Kilconly and Milltown, County Galway in the pilot area.

As the term implies, pilot areas are areas where new approaches to western agricultural development work are tried out and where special incentives by way of increases in certain grants are given to farmers to induce them to co-operate with their agricultural advisers. The areas were increased in 1967 to three times their original size and it is not my intention to extend them further at the present time.
