Vol. 238 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cheap Fuel Scheme.

47.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if, when it is found that an Irish citizen in receipt of a British pension is living in poor circumstances, he will consider extending the cheap fuel scheme to such a person.

The classes eligible to participate in the cheap fuel scheme do not include recipients of British pensions, as such, but any person in poor circumstances may, at the discretion of the local assistance authority, be granted free fuel as a form of assistance in kind.
