asked the Minister for Lands when the Gordon Estates, Kilclooney, Milltown, County Galway, will be divided.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his previous question about this property on 28th November last. The necessary inquiries on the ground preliminary to the formulation of resale proposals are proceeding as rapidly as possible.

Can the Minister give us any indication as to when this estate will be divided? Will it be this year, next year, or the year after?

The Deputy is aware there is widespread congestion in the area and, if it were possible for the Land Commission to acquire more land, then the Land Commission could formulate a more satisfactory scheme. If that is not possible there will be a scheme prepared for 1969-70.

The Minister says that, if more land were available, it would be easier to formulate a scheme. When land was available——

The Deputy is making a statement, not asking a question.

——the Land Commission did not acquire it.

Because a Fine Gael solicitor prevented it and the Deputy helped him. That is true.
