Vol. 239 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Certification of Social Welfare Forms.

34.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that recipients of unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance who reside in the districts of Cordal and Glountane, County Kerry, have to travel to Castleisland to have their forms certified; and if in view of the distance between these districts and Castleisland, he will now consider having these forms certified at Cordal post office.

Requests for the establishment of a signing centre at Cordal were examined in March, 1968 and again in January this year. Having regard to the information obtained as a result of these examinations, I am satisfied that the establishment of a signing centre at Cordal would not be warranted.
