Vol. 239 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel (Tipperary) Housing Needs.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent need for rehousing in Clonmel, County Tipperary; and if he will give sanction to the tender submitted to his Department from Clonmel Corporation for the erection of 118 houses without any further delay.

With regard to the housing need position in Clonmel I would draw the Deputy's attention to my reply, on 20th November last, to his Question No. 26 on this matter.

A proposal to accept a tender of £288,848 for the building of 118 houses at Cashel Road, Clonmel, was received in my Department last month and is under examination. I hope to be in a position to give a decision on the proposal in the near future.
