Vol. 239 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Galway River.

andMr. Donnellan asked the Minister for Finance when drainage work will commence on the Dunkellin river, Athenry, County Galway.

An engineering survey of this catchment has been carried out and further investigation is proceeding but it is not yet possible to say when works can be started.

Arising out of the Parliamentary Secretary's reply could he give me any indication if it would be one year, two years or three years?

As I said, it is not possible to say when it will be started.

I assume it will be started when you can derive the greatest political benefit from it.

As soon as they have completed the drainage of the Shannon.
