Vol. 240 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mineral Development Licences.

36.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if a holder of a prospecting licence under the Minerals Development Act, 1940, on surrendering the licence, makes the information he has acquired available to his Department; and if his Department may make this information available to any future prospector.

Holders of prospecting licences are required to supply me with full details of the results of exploration carried out under the licences. This information is regarded as confidential but it is usually possible subject to the consent of the former licensee to have it made available to other prospectors.
