Vol. 240 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the length of time for which negotiations have been proceeding for the acquisition of the Scahill estate, County Kildare, the Land Commission will now institute a compulsory purchase as the lands have been run down as a result of being set for tillage every year.

Though the actual negotiations for the voluntary purchase by the Land Commission of this 40-acre holding have concluded, arrangements cannot be made to take over possession until the owner's title has been lodged and cleared; the Land Commission are pressing to have this done with the least possible delay.
