Vol. 241 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Bay Pollution.

13.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of recent pollution of the sea water at the Forty-Foot, Sandycove, Dublin; and if he will take action in conjunction with the Minister for Local Government to alleviate this problem.

Tests which have been carried out this year on behalf of the city medical officer in the vicinity of Sandycove have not in general disclosed evidence of serious pollution. I am asking the city medical officer to arrange as soon as possible to have a further series of tests made in this area with particular reference to the Forty-Foot bathing place. On receipt of the results of these, I shall consider whether it is necessary for me to take further steps in the matter.
