Vol. 241 No. 9

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospitals Trust Fund.

27.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of each of the last four years the income and expenditure of the Hospitals Trust Fund; the present balance in the Fund; and the manner in which it is invested.

As the information is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report. Following is the statement:-

Year

Income (including grants-in-aid from the Exchequer)

Expenditure

£

£

1965-66

3,506,402

3,695,566

1966-67

3,044,332

4,358,670

1967-68

4,763,191

5,276,916

1968-69

3,895,605

6,905,318

Balance in the Hospitals Trust Fund on the 14th October, 1969 (none of which is invested): £155,191.

Can the Minister say what fees are paid to the directors and what amounts are paid to a number of individuals associated with the Trust?

That seems to be a separate question.

I am sure it is embodied in the report which the Minister is circulating.

It is a completely separate question and I cannot give the information.
