30.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1969 or the latest year for which figures are available, the amount collected by each health authority by way of charges under (a) section 15 of the Health Act, 1953 and (b) the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 as amended.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

(2) The total amount in column (3) includes £242,400 in respect of charges under section 231 A of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 (as amended). These charges correspond with those under section 15 of the Health Act, 1953 (as amended) for services in institutions other than mental hospitals.
