Vol. 241 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alarm Drill on Ferry Vessels.

63.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power how often boat and fire alarm drills take place in a year on the B and I and British Railways passenger ferry vessels regularly serving Irish ports.

In accordance with the relevant statutory regulations, boat and fire drills must, where practicable, take place on the passenger ferry vessels of the B and I line at intervals of not less than seven days. Vessels operated by British Railways must comply with the relevant British regulations and such compliance is a matter for the British authorities.
