Vol. 242 No. 1

Written Answers. - Labour Court Conference.

153.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if his Department were invited to be represented at a conciliation conference under the auspices of the Labour Court on 15th July, 1969, and 30th June, 1969, in connection with a dispute concerning hours of work and pensions; and, if so, why his Department refused to respond to these invitations, at least up to 24th October, 1969, having regard to the designation order made on 8th October, 1969.

My Department have not refused to attend such a conciliation conference but suggested its deferment, pending completion of the necessary examination on the official side of the claim involved. The conference will in fact take place this week.
