Vol. 242 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Northern Ireland Telephone Books.

117.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will arrange for the provision of Northern Ireland telephone books in all public telephone kiosks so that telephone subscribers may have full facilities for all calls in Ireland.

Provision of a Northern Ireland directory in every kiosk would not be warranted. Northern Ireland directories are available in all main telephone exchanges and the telephone number of a Northern Ireland subscriber will be supplied by any exchange here on request. In the Border areas the directories are widely distributed. They are available in about 170 public telephone call offices and in about 20 kiosks.
