Vol. 242 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Telephone Application.

124.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in providing a telephone for a person (name supplied) in Dalgan, Shrule, County Mayo.

The case in question is one of a number in the district concerned where provision of telephone service has been held up pending negotiation of satisfactory wayleaves for erection of poles on public roads. This question is at present the subject of discussion between officers of my Department and of the appropriate local authority as a result of which I am hopeful that the wayleave problem will be resolved in the very near future and that it will be possible to proceed with the installation of the telephone for the person named.
