On February 20th last, Mayo County Council applied to me for sanction to the appointment of a consultant to examine the overall environmental position in Knock. They were informed on 4th March, 1969, that such an appointment was a matter for themselves. I am not aware of what action the council have since taken in connection with the proposal.
