asked the Minister for Defence what precise steps were taken to improve the fishery protection of Irish coastal waters since this question was raised about one year ago.

asked the Minister for Defence his Department's present policy regarding fishery protection; and when it is expected that a more efficient service will be in operation to protect this national asset and the livelihood of coastal fishermen.

asked the Minister for Defence whether the patrol of Ireland's 1,900 mile coastline and 15,000 square mile of fishing waters is now in effect dependent on one old ship.

87.

asked the Minister for Defence if any survey has been made in regard to the type of vessel used for fishery protection in European maritime countries; and, if so, with what result.
