My Department has sanctioned a grant of £2,747 8s 1d towards the cost of improvements which have been carried out at Knockonan national school, but payment of the grant has been withheld pending the correction of some defects in the work. As these defects are of a minor nature, however, the Commissioners of Public Works are arranging to make an interim payment of £2,500 without delay. The balance of £247 8s 1d will be paid as soon as the defects in the work have been made good.
