Vol. 243 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Postmen's Breastlamps.

125.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that owing to the early commencement of postal delivery during the winter months in rural areas postmen find it very difficult to sort out individual mail; and if he will make arrangements that every postman is supplied with a breastlamp.

I am so aware, and lamps are supplied to postmen where required. There has been difficulty in procuring supplies of breastlamps and it has been necessary to use cycle lamps suitably adapted. Efforts to secure a suitable type of breastlamp are continuing.
