Vol. 243 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Registry Office.

57.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that there are still very long delays in the Land Registry Office in dealing with applications for copy of maps and registration of titles from Kerry; and what arrangements are being made to improve the efficiency of this office by increasing the staff and providing up to date organisation and methods.

There are still delays in dealing with applications to the Land Registry but Kerry is not any worse off in that regard than any other county.

As to the arrangements that are being made to improve the situation, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question on the 13th November, 1969, and to my recent opening speech on the Estimates for my Department.

The special interim arrangements for the clearance of mapping arrears, that I mentioned in my reply on 13th November, have been introduced, and are expected to clear these arrears within the next year.
