asked the Minister for Local Government if he received on the 4th September, 1969, the additional information requested by him in order to obtain his sanction for the erection of two houses at Emo, County Laois; if this matter has been with his Department since early July, 1969; and if he will now take steps to have final sanction conveyed, so that these houses may be erected without delay.

I approved this proposal last month.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he was requested on the 17th November, 1969, to sanction the employment of an architect to prepare plans for a scheme of 12 houses at Knocknamore, Abbeyleix, County Laois; if he will now give sanction to same in view of the urgent need for the provision of additional new houses in the town; and if he will take steps to see that no time will be lost in the erection of the ten maisonettes for the town which he has already sanctioned.

The employment of a consultant architect for a scheme of 12 houses at Knocknamore, Abbeyleix, was sanctioned by me last week. I am awaiting the council's building proposals regarding the maisonettes.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether there are any proposals before his Department for the erection of six county council houses at Ballybrittas, Laois.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 32 and 33 together.

A proposal to accept a tender for these houses is being examined in my Department. I will give a decision as soon as possible.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received tenders for his approval for the erection by Laois County Council of six maisonettes at Stradbally, County Laois; if he will explain the delay in his Department in giving sanction to draft plans for a scheme of ten houses at Court Square, Stradbally, Laois, which were sent to his Department on the 22nd September, 1969; and if he will now give sanction for them.

A proposal for the acceptance of a tender for six maisonettes at Stradbally was received in my Department on the 25th ultimo and is under consideration. A decision will be given as soon as possible. 37.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received proposals from Offaly County Council for the erection of six cottages at Shannon Bridge, County Offaly; and if he will state the cause of delay in giving his sanction to this urgent proposal in view of the great housing shortage in the area.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 36 and 37 together.

Revised plans for both of these schemes were approved by me last week and the submission of the council's building proposals is awaited.
