Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - UCD School of Architecture.

77.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received a request for an inquiry into the dismissal of two members of the staff of the School of Architecture at University College, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 20th November to a similar question. The matter is still under consideration.

Did the Minister receive a request?

Yes, there is a request. I replied to this on the previous occasion.

What progress has there been? Did the Minister say 20th November?

What progress has been made since?

I shall not comment on this. As I explained previously the matter is being considered.

How long more does the Minister need to consider it?

The Government have not yet made a decision.

In the interests of everyone concerned, would the Minister try to come to a conclusion as early as possible?

We always try to do that.

Yes, in terms of Fianna Fáil language, but I mean in terms of common sense.

We do not make instant decisions. We consider matters carefully and then make decisions.
