Vol. 244 No. 3

Written Answers. - Irish Citizens Employment Prospects.

236.

asked the Minister for Labour the consequences to employment prospects for Irish citizens in Ireland if the State should join the EEC or any other association of states in which Ireland could no longer exercise a right to prohibit foreigners from working here.

The provisions for free movement of workers in the EEC should not have more than a marginal effect on the movement of foreign workers to Ireland. There is already full mobility of workers between Britain and Ireland.
