Vol. 244 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Council Certification.

27.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Local Government the amount collected by Louth County Council for the year ended 31st March, 1969, for certificates setting out whether or not certain roads and drains servicing specified residences were in charge of Louth County Council; and the amount charged for each such certificate.

A report in the matter has been sought from the Louth County Council. When I receive this report, I will communicate with the Deputy.

(Cavan): Would the Minister agree that if a charge of five guineas is being made for a simple letter stating whether or not a road or a sewer has been taken in charge is being made by that county council it is absolutely unreasonable and should be discontinued?

Yes, I would think so.
