Vol. 244 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel (Tipperary) Barracks Workers.

122.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware of the low standard of wages being paid to the pioneer workers at Kickham Barracks, Clonmel, County Tipperary; and if he will arrange for the payment of higher wages.

I have examined the rate of pay of the pioneers at Kickham Barracks and have arranged for it to be brought up to the level of the rate payable to general labourers employed with Clonmel Corporation. The increase in pay involved is 16/9d a week.
