asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to convert the Duleek telephone exchange, County Meath, to automatic working.

It is hoped to convert Duleek Exchange to automatic working within two to three months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to convert the telephone exchanges to automatic working at Carbury, County Kildare, and Enfield, County Meath.

I regret that it is not possible to say at this stage when the telephone exchanges at Carbury and Enfield will be converted to the automatic system.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he proposes to convert to automatic working the telephone exchanges at Ceanannus Mór, Carnaross Ballivor, Slane, Hill of Down, Summerhill, Crossakeel, Longwood, Balrath, Rathmolyon and Castlejordan, County Meath.

It is planned to convert Balrath exchange to automatic working in about six months' time, Slane exchange next year and Ceanannus Mór exchange within 4 to 5 years. I regret that it is not possible at this stage to say when the telephone exchanges at the other centres named will be converted to the automatic system.
