asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received proposals from Kerry County Council in connection with the number of bridges in the county that are dangerous and require immediate reconstruction and which include Blennerville Bridge on the main road from Tralee to Dingle; if so, if the proposals have been examined; and what grants will be made available in the coming financial year.

My Department has received no general submission from Kerry County Council on dangerous bridges requiring reconstruction. Proposals have been submitted at various dates in relation to particular bridges, including Blennerville Bridge. The following is the position in these cases in so far as my Department are concerned:—

1. Madam's Height, Killarney; a grant of £16,125 has been notified.

2. Annascaul, Dingle; the council have been advised that a sum of £14,000 from their annual tourist road grant may be assigned to the work.

3. Blennerville, Tralee/Dingle; the council have been advised that there is no objection to their proposal to employ a consultant.

4. Inny, Waterville; the council have been advised that there is no objection to their proposal to employ a consultant.
