Vol. 245 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Department of Planning and Development.

1.

asked the Taoiseach what is the present position regarding the establishment of a Department of Planning and Development; whether it is intended to proceed with this proposal; and, if not, why.

As indicated in my reply to a similar question on the 2nd December, 1969, the Report of the Public Services Organisation Review Group recommended certain regroupings of Departments' functions. These recommendations are at present under examination. As part of such examination, consideration is being given to the question of a new Department to deal with housing, physical planning and construction.
