andMr. Begley asked the Minister for Finance (a) if any proposals for coastal protection work have been made to him by the Kerry County Council for work at Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Fenit, Castlegregory, Maharees, Ventry and Ballydavid and (b) what grants he is prepared to allocate for coastal protection work at these places.

(a) Proposals have been received by the Commissioners of Public Works from Kerry County Council, under the Coast Protection Act, 1963, for works at Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Fenit, Maharees, Ventry, and Ballydavid.

(b) It is not possible at this stage to say what grants may be available for works in any of these areas.
