asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the date on which he sanctioned the increases in the prices of coal; the amounts of the increases; and the reasons accepted by his Department for such increases.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Coal Prices.
I take it that the Deputy is referring to the latest increases in the price of coal in the Dublin area. Particulars of these increases since 1st January, 1970, to which I have raised no objection, are in the form of a tabular statement and I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate the statement in the Official Report.
The price increases were necessary to compensate for increases in the landed cost of imported coal and for increased labour costs. Following is the statement.
STATEMENT showing increases in the prices of Coal, Anthracite, etc. by the Dublin Coal Importers since 1st January, 1970, to which the Minister for Industry and Commerce raised no objection.
