I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing numbers at work in the main branches of economic activity in April, 1956, and April, 1969.
Over the period in question, the number at work in agriculture, forestry and fishing declined by 129,000 while, in non-agricultural economic activity, the number at work increased by 73,000.
