Vol. 245 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clare Estates.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands the position with regard to the acquisition of the Wilson Lynch estate at Belvoir, Sixmilebridge, County Clare.

22.

asked the Minister for Lands what special consideration will be given to a person (name supplied) of Ballyvalley, Killaloe, County Clare, in the allocation of the Wilson Lynch estate at Sixmilebridge, County Clare, in view of the fact that he was employed on the estate for 15 years and was for the same period in occupation of a cottage belonging to the estate.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.

Possession of 124 acres of this estate passed to the Land Commission last month. I understand that the cottage occupied by the person referred to in the question is not on the portion purchased by the Land Commission.

As is their settled practice, the Land Commission will in due course give careful consideration to the position of any person displaced from employment by reason of the purchase of this property and may provide a parcel of land or a cash gratuity in suitable cases.
