Vol. 246 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Water Scheme.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government when plans for a group water scheme at Burgess, Killeagh, County Cork, were lodged in his Department; the progress made to date; and when the subscribers to the scheme can expect to have a water supply.

Plans for this scheme were submitted to my Department in July, 1966. The quotations subsequently received were too high for the resources of the group. Their negotiations with local contractors for acceptable prices were completed early this month. Arrangements are now being made to have grants allocated and work on the scheme can then be commenced.

Could the Minister say when the grants will, in fact, be made available as the plans are now being sanctioned?

Very shortly.
