Vol. 246 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Warble Fly Eradication.

5.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware of the increase in the number of cattle being affected by warble fly; and what steps his Department are taking to combat this menace.

Demands for dressing of warbled cattle this season have in some areas been higher than last season and staff have been deployed by my Department to deal with the situation.

I am keeping the whole position under review and the question of what further measures may be necessary to complete the eradication of the warble fly will be considered in the light of the level of infestation this season.
