Appointment of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.

A Cheann Comhairle, b'áil liom cead a chur in iúl, mar eolas don Dáil,

(1) gur chuireas in iúl don Uach-tarán go raibh Dáil Éireann tar éis comhaontú le mé d'ainmniú na dTeachtaí

Diarmaid Ó Cróinín,

Roibeárd Ó Maoildhia agus

Gearóid Ó Coileáin

chun bheith ina gcomhaltaí den Rialtas agus gur cheap sé iad dá réir sin an 9ú lá den mhí seo;

(2) go ndearna mé, an 7ú lá den mhí seo, an Roinn Dlí agus Cirt a shannadh do

Dheasún Ó Máille,

comhalta den Rialtas;

(3) go ndearna mé, an 9ú lá den mhí seo, sannadh na Roinne Tionscail agus Tráchtála don Teachta Seoirse Ó Colla, sannadh na Roinne Cosanta don Teachta Séamus Mac Giobúin agus sannadh na Roinne Poist agus Telegrafa don Teachta Pádraig Ó Leathlobhair a fhorcheannadh;

(4) go ndearna mé, an 9ú lá den mhí seo, Ranna Stáit a shannadh do chomhaltaí den Rialtas mar leanas:—

an Roinn Leasa Shóisialaigh do Sheosamh Ó Braonáin, an tAire Saothair,

an Roinn Airgeadais do Sheoirse Ó Colla, Aire na Gaeltachta,

an Roinn Talmhaíochta agus Iasc-aigh do Shéamus Mac Giobúin,

an Roinn Tionscail agus Tráchtála do Phádraig Ó Leathlobhair,

an Roinn Cosanta do Dhiarmaid Ó Cróinín,

an Roinn Rialtais Áitiúil do Roibeárd Ó Maoildhia agus

an Roinn Poist agus Telegrafa do Ghearóid Ó Coileáin, agus

(5) go ndearna an Rialtas na Teachtaí seo a leanas a ceapadh chun bheith ina Rúnaithe Parlaiminte le héifeacht ón 9ú lá den mhí seo:—

Mícheál Ó Ceit—Rúnaí Parlaiminte Aire na Gaeltachta,

Liam Mac Cuinneagáin—Rúnaí Parlaiminte an Aire Rialtais Áitiúil,

Seán Ó Fathaigh—Rúnaí Parlaiminte an Aire Talmhaíochta agus Iascaigh, agus

Mícheál Ó Cinnéide—Rúnaí Parlaiminte an Aire Oideachais.

A Cheann Comhairle, I beg leave to state, for the information of the Dáil,

(1) that, having informed the President that Dáil Éireann approved my nominations of Deputies

Jerry Cronin.

Robert Molloy and

Gerard Collins

to be members of the Government, the President, on the 9th instant, appointed them accordingly;

(2) that I assigned the Department of Justice to Deputy Des O'Malley with effect from the 7th instant:

(3) that, on the 9th instant, I terminated the assignments of the Department of Industry and Commerce to Deputy George Colley, the Department of Defence to Deputy James Gibbons and the Department of Posts and Telegraphs to Deputy Patrick Lalor;

(4) that, on the 9th instant, I assigned Departments to members of the Government as follows:—

the Department of Social Welfare to Joseph Brennan, Minister for Labour,

the Department of Finance to George Colley, Minister for the Gaeltacht,

the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to James Gibbons.

the Department of Industry and Commerce to Patrick Lalor,

the Department of Defence to Jerry Cronin,

the Department of Local Government to Robert Molloy, and

the Department of Posts and Telegraphs to Gerard Collins; and

(5) that the Government have appointed the following Deputies to be Parliamentary Secretaries with effect from the 9th instant:—

Michael Kitt—Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Gaeltacht,

Liam Cunningham—Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Local Government,

John Fahey—Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, and

Michael O'Kennedy—Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education.
