asked the Minister for Lands what is the position regarding the Sweeney estate, Ballynahattina, Mount Bellew, County Galway.

The Land Commission have recently carried out a detailed inspection of this 35 acre property with a view to determining whether acquisition proceedings should be instituted. The report furnished is being studied and it is expected that there will be an early decision in the matter.

12.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is satisfied that the Noone estate, Ballynahattina, Mount Bellew, County Galway, which was divided recently, was allocated in the best interests of the local farmers.

The selection of allottees for land is a matter reserved to the commissioners and having regard to the small area involved, this six-acre plot was allocated in the best interests of land structure in the locality.

However, the Land Commission are aware that there is still deserving congestion in the townland and is considering the acquisition of further lands with a view to its relief.

13.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider the acquisition of lands that have been offered for sale by private treaty at Cashel and Gortaganny, Glenamaddy, County Galway.

14.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Thomas Joseph Coyne estate, Derreen-teige, Ballinlough, County Roscommon, has been offered for sale; and if he will bring this to the notice of the Land Commission with a view to acquiring this estate and afterwards dividing it among the needy tenants.

15.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Raftery estate, Farm, Williamstown, County Galway.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 13, 14 and 15 together.
