Vol. 247 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Housing.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a tender for the erection of 12 houses at Tramore, County Waterford, has yet been accepted; and, if not, if he will state the reasons for the delay.

28.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet sanctioned the layout for 40 houses and eight semi-detached private houses at Tramore, County Waterford; and, if not, if he will state the reasons for the delay.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 27 and 28 together.

I have received no proposals from Waterford County Council for a scheme of 12 houses at Tramore. A sketch layout for a scheme of 40 houses and eight private housing sites in Tramore was submitted by the council to my Department informally in July, 1969, but a decision on it had to be deferred pending finalisation of compulsory purchase proceedings for the acquisition of the site. The layout was discussed last February with officers of the council and the formal submission of design documents is now awaited.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a tender for the erection of four houses at Portlaw, County Waterford, has yet been sanctioned; and, if not, will he state the reasons.

A proposal from the county council to accept a tender for six houses at Portlaw was sanctioned on the 22nd January last.
