Vol. 247 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Garda Station.

32.

asked the Minister for Finance when the new Garda station in the Douglas area of Cork city will be fully operational.

Exhaustive inquiries have so far failed to secure a suitable site for the proposed new district headquarters at Douglas, Cork. Consequently, I am not at present in a position to say when the new building will be available.

The search for a site is continuing.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary ensure that the suburban barracks will not be shut down before the new station is ready for occupation?

That is a matter for the Minister for Justice and not for me. There is no information available to me to that effect.
