asked the Minister for Education what is the present position regarding the proposed central school at Aughnacliffe, County Longford.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of a new central national school to be built at Aughnacliffe, County Longford. Sketch plans for the school, which were submitted by the manager's architect, are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works. The case is being treated as urgent and all possible steps are being taken to bring it as soon as possible to the stage at which tenders can be sought.
