I have included a provision at section 66 (3) of the Health Act, 1970, which would enable the child health service to be extended, at the discretion of the health board, to a post-primary school which so requests.
I intend, however, to give priority in the next few years to the pre-school and national school services on the grounds that the greatest improvement in the health of our children will come from concentrating resources on the younger age groups and particularly the pre-school children.
