Vol. 248 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gormanston Camp Inmate.

42.

andDr. O'Connell asked the Minister for Defence under what circumstances an inmate of the Gormanston refugee camp (name supplied) was asked to leave.

As the Deputies are probably aware, Gormanston Camp, where the refugees are accommodated, is an all-the-year-round occupied military post. The station commander there, for reasons which I do not propose to disclose, felt that the person referred to in the question was a security risk and he accordingly told him that it would be preferable if he sought alternative accommodation. He agreed to leave as soon as he could find suitable accommodation.
