Vol. 248 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wool Bonus.

59.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what arrangements he has made to deal with the situation whereby wool dealers who co-operated with An Chomhairle Olla and paid the 2d per lb bonus to producers who presented their wool without brand or stain now find that merchants and woollen mills refuse to pay them any bonus or take any notice of the Department's regulations.

The regulations to which the Deputy refers relate only to the purchase of fleece wool from producers. I would expect, however, that their effect would be reflected in the resale of such wool. If this should not prove to be the case I shall seek the advice of An Chomhairle Olla on the best means of dealing with this situation.
