Vol. 248 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Housing Scheme.

116.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has given sanction for the construction of new council houses at Little Island, County Cork; and when these houses will be completed.

Revised plans for a scheme of 18 houses were received last month in my Department and are being examined. I expect to give a decision on the plans shortly. The provision of these houses, however, is dependent on an extension of existing sewerage facilities in the area. A proposal for a sewer extension has been submitted by the council and is being considered. I am not in a position at this stage to say when the houses are likely to be completed.

The remaining Questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper unless Deputies wish to receive written answers.
